Tekinfo Transactions on Computer Engineering and Security (InfoCES) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by the Department of Information Technology, Politeknik Negeri Padang, Indonesia. The journal is dedicated to the dissemination of original, rigorous, and reproducible research at the intersection of computer engineering and information security. InfoCES provides a publication venue for researchers, academics, and practitioners worldwide who are advancing knowledge in hardware and embedded systems, computer architecture, network engineering, cryptography, cybersecurity, digital forensics, and the security dimensions of emerging computing paradigms. The journal is committed to bridging the gap between foundational engineering research and applied security practice, with particular attention to challenges arising in developing digital ecosystems.

Processor design, memory hierarchies, real-time and embedded systems, FPGA-based design, low-power computing, and hardware-software co-design.

Digital circuit design, VLSI and ASIC development, signal processing hardware, reconfigurable computing, and hardware description languages.

Network Engineering and Infrastructure
Network architecture and protocols, software-defined networking, wireless and mobile networks, network performance optimisation, and telecommunications infrastructure.

Cryptography and Data Security
Symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms, cryptographic protocol design and analysis, post-quantum cryptography, steganography, and data privacy mechanisms.

Cybersecurity and Intrusion Detection
Network and system security, intrusion detection and prevention systems, malware analysis, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and threat intelligence.

Digital Forensics and Incident Response
Forensic investigation methodologies, evidence acquisition and analysis, memory and network forensics, anti-forensics, and cyber incident response frameworks.

IoT and Cyber-Physical Systems Security
Security architectures for IoT and cyber-physical systems, industrial control system security, smart grid protection, edge and fog computing security, and hardware-level attacks and defences.

Cloud and serverless computing security, blockchain and distributed ledger technologies, quantum computing and its security implications, AI-driven security systems, and privacy-preserving computing.

Open Access Policy

InfoCES is a fully Diamond Open Access journal. All articles are freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication, without subscription, registration, or payment of any kind. The journal imposes no Article Processing Charges (APC) on authors and no access fees on readers. Publication costs are supported entirely by the Department of Information Technology, Politeknik Negeri Padang. All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and adaptation provided that the original work is properly attributed and any derivative work is distributed under the same license.

Copyright Notice

Authors who publish in InfoCES retain copyright of their work. By submitting a manuscript, authors grant InfoCES and its publisher a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish and distribute the article under the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Authors are permitted to deposit their work in institutional repositories, preprint servers, or other open platforms at any stage, provided that the published version is acknowledged with a full citation and a link to the original article via its assigned DOI. The ShareAlike condition of the license ensures that all derivative works remain openly accessible under the same terms, in perpetuity.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain concealed throughout the evaluation. Each manuscript is assessed by a minimum of two independent expert reviewers selected for their subject knowledge in the relevant area of computer engineering or security. Reviewers evaluate submissions on the basis of originality, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal's scope. The typical review process targets completion within 6–8 weeks of reviewer assignment. The editorial decision — Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject — is communicated to the corresponding author with the consolidated reviewer reports.

Publication Frequency

InfoCES publishes two issues per year: Issue 1 in June and Issue 2 in December. Articles accepted for publication are made available online as ahead-of-print immediately upon acceptance, prior to their formal assignment to a specific issue, ensuring that there is no unnecessary delay between acceptance and public availability.

Journal History

Tekinfo Transactions on Computer Engineering and Security (InfoCES) was established by the Department of Information Technology, Politeknik Negeri Padang, as the second journal in the Tekinfo Transactions series, alongside Tekinfo Transactions on Software Engineering (InfoSE). InfoCES was founded to address the growing need for a dedicated, internationally oriented publication venue that integrates computer engineering and information security research — two domains that are increasingly inseparable in the design of reliable, resilient, and trustworthy computing systems. The journal reflects the department's commitment to producing research of international calibre while remaining grounded in the engineering challenges most relevant to the Indonesian and Southeast Asian technology landscape.

Sponsorship and Funding Disclosure

InfoCES is published and financially supported by the Department of Information Technology, Politeknik Negeri Padang. The journal does not receive external commercial sponsorship of any kind. All editorial decisions are made entirely on the basis of academic merit and are independent of any financial considerations. The absence of commercial funding ensures that no conflicts of interest arise from the publication process.

Digital Preservation and Archiving

InfoCES is committed to the long-term preservation and uninterrupted accessibility of all published content. The journal participates in the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) digital preservation programmes, which maintain distributed, permanent archives of the journal's content across a global network of participating libraries. This ensures that all published articles remain accessible indefinitely, even in the event of technical disruption to the journal's primary hosting platform.
