About the Journal

Tekinfo Transactions on Art, Design, Multimedia and Animation (MediaART) is a peer-reviewed, Diamond Open Access journal published by the Department of Information Technology, Politeknik Negeri Padang, Indonesia. As the third journal in the Tekinfo Transactions series, MediaART provides a dedicated publication venue for original research, systematic reviews, critical essays, and case studies that advance knowledge across the full spectrum of art, design, multimedia, and animation studies. The journal embraces both practice-based and theoretically grounded contributions, recognising that the field is defined by the productive tension between creative making and critical inquiry.

MediaART publishes research spanning animation and motion design, interactive design, user experience and user interface design, social media and digital culture, digital storytelling and visual communication, virtual, augmented and mixed reality, game development and game design, artificial intelligence in digital media, computer graphics and visual computing, photography, film, and multimedia production. The journal equally welcomes scholarly work in design history, art history, visual culture, design methodology and discourse, design management, art criticism, the anthropology of art, sociology of design, and conceptual, cultural, psychological, and educational research in the visual arts. Contributions addressing industrial design, interior design, craft, architecture, creative industry policy, and artifact design are also within scope.

MediaART serves researchers, educators, practitioners, and critics working at the intersection of technology, creativity, and culture. All articles are published immediately upon acceptance under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0) with no article processing charges imposed on authors or readers.
