Tekinfo Transaction on Software Engineering (InfoSE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by the Department of Information Technology, Politeknik Negeri Padang, Indonesia. The journal is committed to disseminating high-quality original research, review articles, and case studies that advance the theory and practice of software engineering. InfoSE welcomes contributions from researchers, academics, and practitioners across the globe.

InfoSE publishes original research covering, but not limited to, the following topics:

Software architecture patterns, design principles, microservices, cloud-native systems, and component-based development.

Agile, Scrum, DevOps, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), model-driven development, and software process improvement.

Software testing strategies, quality assurance, verification and validation, code review, and software metrics.

Secure Software Development
Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC), vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, threat modeling, and OWASP-based practices.

Open Access Policy

InfoSE is a fully open-access journal. All articles are freely available online immediately upon publication, without subscription or paywall barriers. Readers are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of all articles under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike (CC BY-SA). This open-access model is supported by the publisher, Politeknik Negeri Padang, with no Article Processing Charges (APC) imposed on authors.

Copyright Notice

Authors who publish in InfoSE retain copyright of their work. By submitting a manuscript, authors grant the journal the right of first publication. All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike (CC BY-SA), which allows others to share and adapt the work provided that appropriate credit is given, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are indicated. Authors are permitted to enter into separate agreements for non-exclusive distribution of the published version (e.g., deposit in an institutional repository or publish in a book), with acknowledgement of its initial publication in InfoSE.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review. Each manuscript is evaluated by a minimum of two independent expert reviewers. The editorial decision — Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject — is based on the reviewers' assessments of originality, scientific rigor, clarity, and relevance to the journal's scope. The typical review process is completed within 4–8 weeks of submission.

Publication Frequency

InfoSE publishes two issues per year: Issue 1 (June) and Issue 2 (December). Articles accepted for publication may be made available online as ahead-of-print prior to their formal issue assignment.

Journal History

Tekinfo Transaction on Software Engineering (InfoSE) was established by the Department of Information Technology, Politeknik Negeri Padang, as part of an institutional commitment to advancing scholarly communication in applied computing and software engineering. The journal was founded to provide a dedicated, professionally managed publication venue for researchers and practitioners in the software engineering domain, particularly within the Indonesian polytechnic academic community and the broader international research landscape.

Sponsorship & Funding Disclosure

InfoSE is published and financially supported by the Department of Information Technology, Politeknik Negeri Padang. The journal does not receive external commercial sponsorship. Editorial decisions are made independently of any financial considerations and are based solely on academic merit.

Archiving & Digital Preservation

InfoSE is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. The journal participates in the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) digital preservation programs, which enable libraries and institutions worldwide to create distributed, permanent archives of the journal's content. This ensures continued access to all published articles even in the event of disruption to the journal's primary platform.
